Crimson Liquid

Souls lifted
Innocence spills, crimson liquid
Glistening, no one is listening everyone is a victim
Breaths lost to hate
Gasps lost to the system
Glistening, no one is listening everyone is a victim

Streets stained in history
Never forgetting misery
Seamless grief, free delivery
Desensitized
Flaming but burnt out, lady liberty

Tears trailing, buildings built on forgotten souls
Who built the pyramids? Can’t find their names on rotten scrolls
Bottom up patrol, vile files, shotguns control
Getting dropped off from school, your daddy on the floor

Demographical demons demolish demeanors
the meaner the teacher the lack of black boys becoming dreamers
they gun from the bleacher she runs and they bleach her

Souls rested
Innocence pools

Crimson liquid.

Nobody Loves You

Exactly who are we killing?
And who is just dying?
Perspectives live in the feelings
Prospective living means crying

Black women nursing the child we call United
Wild wild, we live here but now we’re just invited
Rosa not taking that seat we all just sat there frightened
Colin just taking a seat nation still not enlightened

Nobody loves you.
Hoods on, your mother cuffs you
white lights, brighter, that’s nicer
stood lost, uncover drug use
How much does a hollow cost?
And frankly I cannot see
Why live if tomorrow’s lost?
Stare blankly like what’s a Ponzi?
Who’s Cosby?
So many questions asked, illuminati?
Who are we?
Rough that a diamond’s in, if you’re not bourgeoise.

Hoods on from fear of the harshness
Dig deep in my pockets
Why does the darkness take away that really I’m harmless?
Nobody loves you.
Nobody’s true.
You’re nobody to a nobody so nobody can know you.

From the artist: Poetry tends to incite different feelings for different readers. I hope these pieces give you the opportunity to self-reflect as much as it helped me explore myself.
