On the Side of the Court

From the artist: NYC has a lot of these beautiful, community-led vigils in the streets and in parks. This one was especially lively, with plenty of flowers among the candles and empty beer bottles. Seeing it immediately made me pause to reflect about how we can help each other remember and grieve in such public spaces.

Nicole is a third-year medical student from Michigan. She is interested in stories, both in the hospital and outside of it. She is constantly reminded that film photography is an expensive hobby, but she can't will herself to get a digital just yet.
