From the artist: Similar to the human body, plants have a pre-determined blueprint. Looking at this plant, one may draw into question: how is nature so perfect at generating fractal patterns? Is it simply the path of least resistance that drives all life to develop in such ways? Forces unknown link our physical make-up to the nature around us.

James Fleming is a medical student who deeply values the innate storytelling found within nature. Through macro photography, he explores the aspects of nature that may otherwise slip by unnoticed. His ultimate goal is to blend a photographer’s sense of wonder, appreciation, and curiosity into his practice as a thoughtful and observant physician.
