Duck Shop in Elmhurst

From the artist: While on my Internal Medicine rotation at Elmhurst Hospital, I tried to shoot an entire roll of film in one day just to test if my camera was working properly after having some repairs done. This was one of my favorite photos that I took along my commute, and I couldn't exactly tell you why—maybe it's something about how the ostensible banality of shopping for dinner uniquely manifests across different cultures; or, maybe I also just really like Peking duck.

Sinai Fruit Cart

From the artist: Right after exiting the shuttle back from Elmhurst on this rare, sunny late-fall day, the light glimmering off of the produce at the iconic 98th Street fruit cart caught my eye, and I just felt like this warm, summery scene needed to be captured. This image of a neighborhood staple evokes feelings of familiarity in anyone who has spent significant time living or working near the main Mount Sinai Hospital; and, in my mind, it accordingly encompasses the shared experience and deep sense of connection that bond members of our Sinai community.
