From the artist: As a lifelong New Yorker, it was difficult to see the changing city during the COVID-19 pandemic, and even more difficult to hear the narratives that "New York is dead" or that "New York will never recover." These photos aim to show the opposite: that New York never left, and that there was still happiness, joy, and connectedness, even during the most difficult moments of New York's experience with the pandemic.
